Memphis Redbirds News Release
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds begin their final regular season homestand on Monday, playing host to the division-rival New Orleans Zephyrs (Triple-A Marlins) at AutoZone Park.
The Redbirds are celebrating the city of Memphis during the final four home games of the season, teaming up with the Memphis Grizzlies, Choose901, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, among others in the Mid-South.
Monday, August 31 vs. New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
- Grit And Grind Night: The Redbirds and Memphis Grizzlies are partnering for Grit and Grind Night. Grizz, the Grizz Girls, and Claw Crew will be available for photos with fans and also participate in special in-game promotions and activities. Rick Trotter will serve as guest PA announcer, while "King" Joey returns as on-field emcee.
- Memphis Grizzlies Jersey Auction: The Redbirds will be wearing commemorative blue-and-gold Grizzlies-themed jerseys on the field to celebrate the special evening. Fans can come away with a jersey by participating in a silent auction from gates open until the end of the sixth inning. Auction winners will be taken onto the field to receive their purchased jersey from their Redbirds player following the game. Proceeds will benefit both the Redbirds Community Fund and Memphis Grizzlies Foundation.
- Tony Allen Special Appearance: Grizzlies guard Tony Allen will be making a special appearance to meet fans at AutoZone Park. The GrindFather will be signing autographs on the concourse behind home plate when gates open and throwing out a pregame ceremonial first pitch. Allen's autographed jersey will also be put up for auction.
- Memphis Grizzlies 2016-17 Magnet Schedule Giveaway: Co-branded Redbirds-Grizzlies magnet schedules featuring the Grizzlies' upcoming 2015-16 regular season schedule will be distributed to the first 2,500 ticketed fans upon entry.
Tuesday, September 1 vs. New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
- Prairie Farms Ice Cream Bowl Giveaway: The first 2,000 fans will receive their very own Redbirds ice cream bowl, a perfect fit for everyone's favorite Prairie Farms ice cream.
- King Cotton $1 Hot Dogs: Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs at AutoZone Park on the final Tuesday of the season, courtesy of King Cotton.
- Choose901 Night At The Redbirds: Celebrate Memphis with Choose901 and the Redbirds. Theme tickets are priced at $20 for Dugout and $16 for Field Box, and include a commemorative Choose901-themed Redbirds shirt. Deadline to order is Friday at 12pm. - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Check Presentation: A pregame check presentation will be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Select Redbirds players and members of the coaching staff pledged to donate a combined sum based on personal game statistics from the 2015 regular season.
- Burger King Whopper Promotion: Upon exiting the ballpark, Redbirds fans in attendance will receive a coupon for a free Whopper with the purchase of a medium french fries and drink, courtesy of Burger King.
Wednesday, September 2 vs. New Orleans Zephyrs at 11:35 a.m. (gates open at 10:30 a.m.)
- Lunch & 3 Innings: Enjoy your lunch break under the sun with the Redbirds. For only $10, fans can get a field box ticket and lunch voucher redeemable for a hot dog and soda.
- Senior Day: Seniors are invited to enjoy the Redbirds' final matinee game of the season, presented by Wesley Housing Corporation. Seniors will also get the opportunity to walk the bases postgame.
Thursday, September 3 vs. New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
- Regular Season Home Finale: All fans in attendance will receive a Field Box voucher good for any 2016 regular season home game, excluding fireworks dates.
- 2016 Season Magnet Schedule Giveaway: The Redbirds are concluding the year by giving away 4,000 magnet schedules of the 2016 season, presented by Cash Saver.
- Fan Appreciation Night: Fun activities are planned all night long while fans have opportunities to win numerous giveaways every inning, including autographed memorabilia.
- College Night: Every Thursday home game, college students can purchase $5 Left Field TruGreen Bluff tickets at the box office on gamedays (with a valid college ID). $2 domestic drafts will be available for purchase at the Left Field Bar throughout the game.
Following the homestand, the Redbirds wrap up the regular season by traveling to face the Oklahoma City Dodgers (Triple-A Dodgers) at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for a four-game series.
