Salt Lake Bees News Release
SALT LAKE CITY (August 27, 2015) - Salt Lake Bees trainer Brian Reinker has been named the 2015 Pacific Coast League Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS), the PCL announced today.
The Athletic Trainer of the Year award was earned by Reinker in a selection by his peers. Reinker is now among the 17 league winners across Minor League Baseball to be considered for Minor League Athletic Trainer of the Year, which will be announced and awarded at the Baseball Winter Meetings this December in Nashville, Tennessee.
The 2015 season marked Reinker's eighth in Salt Lake and his 13th as a trainer in the Los Angeles Angels' organization. Reinker has worked with 56 players this season, including seven on major league rehabilitation assignments from the Angels. In 2011, Reinker was selected by the PCL as the league's trainer for the Triple-A All-Star Game held in Salt Lake.
Prior to his time with the Bees, Reinker worked as a trainer for the Arizona League Angels (2003), Class-A Cedar Rapids (2004), High-A Rancho Cucamonga (2005-06), and Double-A Arkansas (2007) during his professional career.
A native of Whitehall, Ohio, Reinker earned an athletic training degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, in 2003. He also worked with Arizona State University's football and baseball programs during his final year of college, and now resides in Tempe, Arizona, during the offseason.
