Isotopes blast Cubs again

April 10, 2005 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Iowa Cubs News Release

The Albuquerque Isotopes pounded five home runs en route to a 11-3 win over the Iowa Cubs Saturday night in Albuquerque. The Isotopes roughed up Iowa starter Sergio Mitre for six runs in the first three innings and tagged Mitre with the loss in his 2005 debut.

Albuquerque's Mark Little homered three times in the game as the Isotopes set a franchise record with the five homer night. Peter Bauer picked up the win for the Isotopes.

David Kelton hit his first home run of the year in the second inning for the Cubs. Mike Fontenot and Ronny Cedeno extended their hitting streaks to three games.

The Cubs had a scare in the fifth inning when utility infielder Nate Frese fainted and suffered a seizure in the Cubs dugout. Frese was responsive but was taken to a nearby hospital for further examination.

The Cubs and Isotopes will meet in the finale of their four-game set Sunday afternoon at Isotopes Park. Iowa's Jimmy Anderson will face former Iowa Cub Frank Castillo at 2:35 Central time.
