
IronPigs drop second straight in Moosic

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Moosic, PA) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (9-11) saw the lineup from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders score 15 runs off 19 hits on Wednesday evening. The RailRiders defeated the IronPigs 15-6.
Despite the outcome, Lehigh Valley led 3-0 in the first inning behind Darick Hall's three-run home run against Deivi Garcia. The home run for Hall was his sixth of the season and he now has 22 runs batted in this season. The RailRiders responded with scoring five runs against James Marvel (0-4) in the bottom of third inning to take a 5-3 lead.
Lehigh Valley tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the fourth inning against Garcia as Austin Wynns walked with the bases loaded and Yairo Munoz scored on a double play groundball hit by Bryson Stott. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre tagged Marvel for four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 9-5 lead. Marvel allowed nine runs through 3 2/3 innings pitched. It was the second time this season that Marvel allowed nine runs in a game.
Stott hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning against Vinny Nittoli (1-0) to give Lehigh Valley their sixth and final run of the game. The Railriders scored two runs against Jake Newberry in the bottom of the sixth inning and four runs against Aaron Barrett in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 15-6 lead.
The IronPigs and RailRiders will play a doubleheader on Friday afternoon at PNC Field. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
