Durham Bulls News Release
Durham (8-13) got their first win of the six-game series as LF Ryan Boldt hit three home runs to propel the Bulls past the Memphis Redbirds (11-10) 8-2 on Thursday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
After the Redbirds struck first with two runs, the Bulls would get things going in their first frame as Boldt would start off his career night with an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1. Boldt would do more damage at the plate in the third as he connected on a two-run blast to put the Bulls in front 3-2. Durham SS Vidal Brujan would come alive at the plate and use an RBI double to stretch the lead to three. DH Jonathan Aranda would join the RBI party later in the fourth with a single and the 6-2 lead.
Boldt would go the distance again at the plate in the fifth on a solo shot for the 7-2 lead, and then go yard for a third time two innings later on another solo shot. He became the first Bulls player with three homers in a game since July 2nd, 2019, when Nate Lowe hit three against Charlotte.
Bulls pitcher Ryan Yarbrough got the start on the mound as part of a rehab assignment, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing two unearned runs on four hits and four strikeouts. After the two runs, Bulls pitchers threw eight scoreless innings as Chris Muller, Tommy Romero and Ralph Garza Jr. came in for relief. Romero threw four innings allowing three hits while ringing up four strikeouts. Muller gets credit for the win.

RHP Miller Hogan is expected to start on the mound for the Bulls and LHP Matthew Liberatore is scheduled to start for the Redbirds.
