
IronPigs and Braves Split Twin Bill

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (19-30) and Gwinnett Braves (22-26) split a doubleheader on Thursday night at Coolray Field. Gwinnett won game one by a score of 3-0 before Lehigh Valley came from behind to notch a 6-4 victory in the nightcap.
Game One
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs fell to the Gwinnett Braves by a score of 3-0 in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday.
All three Braves runs came with two outs in the fourth inning.
In the home half of the fourth, Gwinnett loaded the bases with two outs courtesy of a walk and two hits batsmen by Pigs starter Phillippe Aumont. Aumont issued his sixth walk of the night to Eury Perez with the bases loaded which gave the G-Braves a 1-0 lead. Jose Peraza followed with a two-run single to open up a 3-0 lead for Gwinnett.
Aumont (2-2) was dealt the loss as he allowed three runs on one hit while issuing the six walks and notching two strikeouts over 3.2 IP.
His counterpart, Braves LHP Manny Banuelos (4-0) tossed shutout baseball for five plus innings and gave up four hits to go along with a pair of walks and three strikeouts.
Gwinnett RHP Carlos Fisher (1.0 IP, 2 K) retired the side in order in the seventh to pick up his second save of the year.
In relief of Aumont, RHP Seth Rosin (2.1 IP, 2 H, K) had a scoreless outing for the Pigs.
The IronPigs were held to just four hits in the game, with Domonic Brown, Brian Bogusevic, Cord Phelps and Jayson Nix collecting one apiece.
Game Two
Logan Moore (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R) delivered a go-ahead RBI double as part of a two-run top of the eighth to lift the Lehigh Valley IronPigs to a 6-4 victory over the Gwinnett Braves in the second half of a twin bill on Thursday night at Coolray Field.
Chase d'Arnaud (2-5, RBI, R, SB) drove home the other run in the inning with an RBI fielder's choice.
RHP Dustin McGowan (1.0 IP, 2 K) earned the win for Lehigh Valley and is now 1-0 on the season. LHP Nick Hill (1.0 IP) tossed a 1-2-3 eighth inning to notch his first save of the season.
RHP Mitchell Boggs (1.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER) was dealt the loss for the G-Braves and falls to 1-1 on the year.
The Pigs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as Tyler Henson (3-4, 2 2B, 2 R, SB) doubled, moved to third on a fielder's choice and scored on Moore's RBI single.
In the home half of the same frame, the G-Braves posted three runs to give themselves a 3-1 advantage. Barrett Kleinknecht plated a run with an RBI double, Braves starter Kanekoa Texeira reached on a fielder's choice which allowed Kleinknecht to score and Eury Perez reached on an error by Henson to score the third run of the inning.
Brown got on base with a one-out walk, stole second and scored on Jordan Danks' (2-4, RBI) RBI single to cut the lead to 3-2 in the top of the third for the IronPigs.
Adonis Garcia gave the G-Braves a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the third with a solo shot off of Pigs starter Jason Berken. It was the second home run of the season for Garcia.
In the top of the seventh, the Pigs rallied to tie it with a pair of runs off of Gwinnett RHP Aaron Kurcz (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K) as Russ Canzler drew a leadoff walk, d'Arnaud singled and Bogusevic tied it at four apiece with a two-run single.
Both Berken (6.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 1 ER, K) and Texeira (4.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 7 K) received a no-decision for their efforts.
The IronPigs will head to Charlotte to take on the Knights in a three-game set beginning Friday at 7:05 p.m. LHP Adam Morgan (0-4, 4.78) gets the start for the Pigs against Charlotte RHP Brad Penny (3-3, 4.91).
