Triple-A All-Star Online Voting Underway
May 29, 2015 - International League (IL1) News Release
Triple-A ® Baseball and MLB Advanced Media, LP (MLBAM) announced today that online voting is now underway for the 28th annual Triple-A All-Star Game in Omaha, Nebraska. The online fan balloting, in its tenth consecutive year of a partnership between Triple-A Baseball and MLBAM, continues through Friday, June 26. This year's All-Star Game will take place at Werner Park, home of the Omaha Storm Chasers, on Wednesday, July 15 at 7:05 p.m. CST.
Fan balloting will help determine the starting lineups for both All-Star teams, accounting for one-third of the total vote along with ballots cast by members of the media and each club's field manager, coaches, and general manager. Fans can cast their ballots at the official websites of Minor League Baseball'⢠(MiLB.com), the Pacific Coast League (PCLBaseball.com), the International League (ILBaseball.com), and the websites of all 30 Triple-A teams. Ballots can be cast via mobile devices and tablets, and are available through the MiLB First Pitch app.
All fans who participate in the online balloting will be able to vote for players on both the PCL and IL rosters. Fans can select one player for each of the infield positions, plus three outfielders, a designated hitter, and four pitchers - two starters and two relievers. Write-in votes for players not listed on the ballot will also be accepted. Up-to-date statistics and position-by-position comparisons will be available at the click of a mouse to help fans make their selections. Once again this year fans will also be able to share links to their online ballots through Facebook and Twitter to encourage friends and followers to cast votes for their favorite Triple-A players.
The First National Bank 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game, presented by Gildan, will be broadcast live from Omaha on Wednesday, July 15 on MLB Network as well as online via MiLB.TV. All-Star Game festivities in Omaha will include the All-Star Fan Fest & Celebrity Softball Game, presented by ConAgra Foods, on Sunday, July 12, followed by the Triple-A Home Run Derby, presented by Omaha Public Power District. on Monday, July 13, in which six All-Stars and two local high school players will showcase their power for a chance to win the Home Run Derby Belt.
