DURHAM, NC - The Durham Bulls beat the Syracuse Chiefs 3-1 in front of 10,128 fans Friday night at the DBAP, scoring all three of their runs in the fourth inning.

After three scoreless innings to begin the contest, Durham (27-23) struck for three runs in the fourth. With one out, Corey Brown, Curt Casali, Richie Shaffer, Luke Maile and Juniel Querecuto all walked consecutively, putting the Bulls on top 2-0. Ryan Brett then beat out a potential double play grounder, scoring Shaffer and extending Durham's lead to 3-0.

Syracuse (17-31) got on the board in the seventh, when Jason Martinson led off the frame with a solo homer over the Blue Monster. The visitors put the tying run aboard in the ninth inning, but Ronald Belisario picked up his 11th save of the campaign by inducing a game-ending double play.

Right-hander Matt Buschmann (5-3) turned in a sterling performance, striking out nine and allowing just two hits over five scoreless innings to run his scoreless streak to 13 frames. Southpaw C.J.
