The IronBirds picked up the win Friday night in the second game of three against the Tri-City Valleycats. The IronBirds ended their hitting drought and scored late to defeat Tri-City.
Digging It Out
With DJ Stewart at third, IronBirds third baseman Austin Pfeiffer hit a slow two-out dribbler to third base. Pfeiffer turned on the jets and hustled to beat the throw at first, pushing Stewart across the plate for the one and only run of the night.
Heatseekers
The IronBirds recorded their fourth shutout of the season on Friday, only allowing four hits. Ryan Meisinger recorded his sixth career save, recording three strikeouts for a combined thirteen. Reid Love and Robert Strader each had four strikeouts, while Garrett Cleavinger had two and was awarded the win.
Birdwatching
The IronBirds pitching staff combined for thirteen strikeouts... Ryan Meisinger recorded his sixth save of the season... DJ Stewart and Austin Pfeiffer had a multi-hit game with two a piece... Robert Strader recorded a career high four strikeouts, and threw for 2.2 innings... Reid Love also recorded a career high four strikeouts.
