
Iribarren and Brady get three hits each in Power victory

ASHEVILLE, NC (May 18, 2005) â Josh Brady drove in five of the Power's seven runs, came a double away from hitting for the cycle, and Hernan Iribarren knocked in the game winner in the top of the ninth inning on an RBI double as the West Virginia Power beat the Asheville Tourists 7-6 on Wednesday afternoon in Asheville.
Josh Brady drove in Alcides Escobar in the top of the first inning on an RBI triple to give the Power a 1-0 lead. In the top of the third inning Will Lewis reached on an infield single and brought in Clay Blevins in the process to give the Power a 2-0 advantage. During the very next at bat, Josh Brady hit his third homerun of the season, a two run shot that put the Power on top 4-0. In the top of the fifth inning Josh Brady struck again, this time delivering with a two run single to make it 6-0 Power. Asheville began their comeback in the bottom of the fifth inning. Kyle Wilson began the inning with a solo homer, Jeff Dragicevich knocked in the second run on an RBI double and Joe Koshansky drove in the final run of the inning on an RBI single to make it a 6-3 ball game. Neil Wilson brought the Tourists one run closer in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI double and Matt Miller tied the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh with a two run homer. With two outs in the top of the ninth inning, and Adam Mannon on third base, Hernan Iribarren delivered his third hit of the game, an RBI double that proved to be the game winner in the 7-6 victory for the Power.
Ben Stanczyk (1-1) earned the victory and Chris Buechner (2-2) obtained the loss. The Power improve to 12-27 with the win and the Tourists are 21-18 after the loss.
The Power will continue the four game series with Asheville on Thursday night at 7:00 PM in Asheville, North Carolina. Left Hander Greg Kloosterman (2-6, 5.22) will throw for the Power and the tourists will counter with lefty Jake Postlewait (1-1, 5.30).
