Air assault: Bombers smash four homer in Gnats' 6-4 loss

Savannah Sand Gnats News Release

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Entering Wednesday's game with Greenville, it seemed that the last thing the Gnats would need to worry about was the long ball. The misnamed Bombers tended to be low on power having stroked only ten homeruns this season. So much for tendencies.

The Bombers smacked four round trippers in their 6-4 defeat of Savannah Wednesday. Third baseman Andrew Pinckney followed up his solo shot in the fourth with a three-run homer in the fifth. Left fielder Matt Ciaramella and catcher Salvador Paniagua joined the tater parade stroking long balls of their own.

Gnat's centerfielder Rogearvin Bernadina got in on the action, lining a shot over the right field wall in the Gnats failed sixth inning comeback attempt.

The Gnats and Bombers face off in a doubleheader Thirsty Thursday at 5:35 p.m. For tickets log onto www.sandgnats.com or call 912-351-9150.
