(Eastlake, OH)--Greensboro's Jai Miller scored from third on a wild pitch in the eighth inning Wednesday, lifting the Grasshoppers to a 7-5 win over the Captains at Classic Park.

It was the third consecutive game that the Captains have led 5-0, only to see the opposition come back and win.

With the score 5-5, Miller reached on a single in the eighth inning against Captains reliever Mike Hernandez (2-1). Miller advanced to second on a ground out, then stole third. With Beau McMillan at the plate, Hernandez uncorked a wild pitch allowing Miller to score the go-ahead run.

Hernandez worked three innings, and allowed only two hits, but suffered his first loss of the season. The wild pitch was Hernandez's seventh of the season in 25 1/3 innings.

The Captains took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a bases-loaded walk to Fernando Pacheco and a two-run single by Marshall Szabo. They made it 5-0 in the third on a two-run single by Josh Noviskey.

Greensboro (24-15) rallied with four runs in the fourth against starter Chris Niesel. They tied it in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Miller. Niesel left after five innings. He gave up 10 hits and five runs, all earned. He walked one and struck out five.

Lefty reliever Zach McCormack (3-0) won it for Greensboro. He worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Matt Yourkin saved it with two scoreless frames in the eighth and ninth.

Pacheco went 1-4 to extend his hitting streak to a team-high 13 games.

The Captains will send lefty Reid Santos to the mound against Greensboro's Allen Baxter in game three of the series on Thursday night at 6:35 (WELW AM 1330).
