INF Kevin Russo Activated from the Disabled List

(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that INF Kevin Russo has been activated from the Disabled List. Russo had been on the Disabled List since June 16th with a facial fracture. Adding Russo to the active roster gives Trenton 24 players on the active roster (league-maximum).

Russo had a .303 average in 41 games for Trenton, with two home runs and 23 RBI at the time of his injury. In 25 games during May, he hit .326 with a home run and 25 RBI. Russo had a .281 BA in 109 games with two home runs and 45 RBI during the 2007 season. He was originally selected by the Yankees in the 20th round of the 2006 draft. He played college baseball at Baylor University, was a 2005 All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention.

Trenton plays the final game of a four-game series this afternoon against the Altoona Curve, the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. RHP George Kontos (3-10, 4.05) will start for the Thunder against Altoona RHP Josh Hill (4-11, 4.78). Game time is set for 12:05 p.m.
