TRENTON, NJ - Thunder right-hander George Kontos punched out 13 Curve batters as Trenton sneaked away with a 1-0 victory on Thursday afternoon against the Altoona Curve in ten innings at Waterfront Park.

The 13 strikeouts by Kontos are the most issued to Curve hitters by an opposing pitcher in the history of the franchise.

Kontos held the Curve to just one hit over eight shutout innings. After Kontos allowed Miguel Perez to reach by way of a single in the third, the right-hander went on to retire the next 14 batters he faced.

After Kontos was forced to exit the game because of a pitch count, reliever Oneli Perez (1-1) tossed two hitless innings to earn his first win of the season.

Lost in the dominance by Kontos was an outstanding performance by Curve starter Josh Hill. Hill was bidding for his first victory in 11 starts, but it was not to be. Hill received a no-decision after he allowed just four hits over six shutout innings.

Jeff Sues relieved Hill and punched out four batters over three shutout frames.

In the bottom of the tenth off closer Ronald Belisario (4-2), Trenton's Joe Muich led off the frame with a single to center field. James Cooper then doubled down the left field line which scored the game-winning run, to give the Thunder a 1-0 win.

With the win, the Thunder drew even in the series 2-2.

Altoona has not lost a series since early July when the Curve dropped two out of three at Thunder on July 8-10.
