June 5, 2009 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that INF Gabe Jacobo has been placed on the 7-day disabled list. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Friday.
Jacobo is listed with a left hamstring strain and was replaced by INF Dwayne Bailey in the fifth inning of Thursday's 8-0 win over Wisconsin.
With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one shy of the MWL maximum, with two players currently on the DL.
The Kernels wrap up a 10 game, 11-day, road trip against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers tonight at 7:05 pm in Appleton, WI. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium and open a four game series with the Burlington Bees on Saturday, June 6th with game time scheduled for 6:35 pm.
