Fairel, Coddington Selected to Play in All-Star Game

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced today that left-handed pitcher Matt Fairel and catcher Kevin Coddington will represent the club in the Midwest League All-Star Game to be played in Clinton, Iowa on June 23rd. The All-Stars were nominated and selected by the Field Managers of the Midwest League.

Fairel has made 11 starts for the Dragons this season, going 4-2 with a 2.20 earned run average. He is currently third in the Midwest League in both ERA and strikeouts and second in innings pitched. Fairel has not allowed a run in his last three starts covering 18 innings.

Coddington has appeared in 36 games for the Dragons, batting .286 with no home runs and 14 runs batted in.

The Dragons host the South Bend Silver Hawks at 7:00 p.m. tonight at Fifth Third Field in the finale of a 10-game home stand.
