Four Bees Selected to All-Star Game

Burlington, IA (June 5, 2009) - The Midwest League announced today that four Bees will be playing in the 2009 All-Star Game on June 23rd in Clinton, IA. Nick Van Stratten, Nick Francis, Barry Bowden, and Bryan Casey will represent the Western Division.

Both Van Stratten and Francis will start in the outfield for the West. Van Stratten is currently hitting .336 with 29 runs scored, one home run, 21 RBI, and six stolen bases. Francis is hitting .307 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, and nine stolen bases.

Pitchers Bowden and Casey were named as reserve pitchers. Bowden leads the team with five saves on the season while carrying a 2.11 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. Casey has a record of 4-4 with a 2.83 ERA in 10 starts. He's struck out 44 batters in 47.2 innings.
