INDIANAPOLIS - Tyler Eppler pitched a career-high 7.2 innings and Indy's offense collected each of its eight hits with two outs in a 5-2 comeback win over Columbus on Friday night. Four of those two-out knocks came during a three-run seventh.

With the score level at two, Indianapolis (46-39) broke the deadlock by sending eight batters to the dish after the stretch. Tyler Olson struck out both Jerrick Suiter and Jackson Williams to start the inning, but the latter reached first base thanks to a passed ball by catcher Eric Haase. The Indians made the miscue hurt, as Sean Rodriguez followed a Kevin Newman single with one of his own to make it 3-2.

Adam Frazier and Jose Osuna then collected singles off submarining right-hander Nick Pasquale to push Indy's advantage to three.

Tanner Anderson (S, 2) inherited two runners in the eighth and promptly retired Chang on a popout to second. He fanned both Adam Rosales and Nellie Rodriguez to bookend a 1-2-3 ninth.

Columbus (45-41) plated the game's first run in the second. Yu Chang doubled and Rosales singled ahead of a Haase sacrifice fly to center.

Two innings later, Pablo Reyes laid out in left field to rob Rosales of a hit, doubling off Melky Cabrera from first in the process. The defensive highlight sparked the Tribe offense for two runs in the home half. Osuna worked a one-out walk and eventually scored on a Jason Martin 391-foot dinger to right, his first in Triple-A.

Indy's lead didn't last long. Haase cranked a 2-2 pitch from Eppler over the left-field wall to open the fifth.

Eppler (W, 9-3) struck out five and walked none, allowing just two runs on 10 hits while Olson (L, 0-1) suffered the tough-luck loss. Clippers starter Adam Plutko yielded two runs across six innings, striking out 11.

Osuna went 2-for-2 with one RBI, one run scored and two walks to pace the offense. Newman had two more hits atop the order to elevate his average to .311.

The Indians and Clippers play game two of their three-game set Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The Tribe will send right-hander Alex McRae (3-7, 4.61) to the bump against Columbus righty Mitch Talbot (2-2, 2.57).
