Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the first game of a three-game series. Following the series, the Herd will have a three-day break for the All-Star game before heading to Allentown, PA to take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for a four-game series July 12-15. Buffalo will then play host to the Norfolk Tides and Durham Bulls July 16-22. The last time the Bisons played the two teams was April 20-25.

Last Game: BUF 6, SWB 9

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre took the fourth and final game of the series, sweeping the Bisons on Thursday. C Danny Jansen hit his sixth home run of the season in the losing efforts. The 2018 All-Star continues to lead the Herd in RBIs. INF Richard Urena and 2017/'18 All-Star INF Jason Leblebijian also collected two hits on the day. The trio drove in five of Buffalo's six runs, with OF Dwight Smith Jr. knocking in the other.

Syracuse (7-4)

The Bisons and Chiefs last played on June 29-30, July 1 with Buffalo taking the last game to salvage the series. Following this series, the two teams will meet again in Syracuse for a four-game series August 31, September 1-3 to finish out the 2018 season. In five games against the Chiefs this season, INF Gift Ngoepe has five hits in 13 at-bats (.385) including both of his home runs on the year.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley is making his ninth start of the season for the Bisons tonight, and his third against the Syracuse Chiefs. In his last start, which came on July 1st in Syracuse, Reid-Foley tossed six shutout innings in the team's 4-1 victory. The right-hander gave up two hits and one walk while striking out five.

Reese McGuire

C Reese McGuire went 1-4 in the loss on Thursday. The backstop continued his strong defensive season for the Herd throwing out two runners, including a pickoff at first. McGuire has now thrown out 8 of the team's 13 would-be base-stealers and is 8-18 (44%) while behind the dish.

Jason Leblebijian

INF Jason Leblebijian collected two hits in four trips to the plate on Thursday. The infielder walked a total of 10 times during the month of June to supplement his .353 on-base percentage. Leblebijian is headed to his second straight Triple-A All-Star game. This year, he is being joined by C Danny Jansen as the Bisons' representatives.

Transactions

RHPs Brandon Cumpton and Zach Stewart were added to the Bisons' roster on Thursday.

Bisons' Bits

All but three active Bisons' hitters have collected double-digit multi-hit games...RHP Justin Shafer was 2-1 (2SV/3SVO) and had a 1.80 ERA in the month of June (10 IP)...OF Roemon Fields' ten-game hitting streak is the second longest by a Bisons' hitter this season (INF Tim Lopes had 11 straight games to open the season 4/9-4/28)...The Bisons' have had 36 different pitchers appear in a game this season.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (40-46) had a scheduled off-day on Thursday. They now play host to the New York Yankees to wrap up their nine-game homestand that spanned ten days. The Jays have another scheduled off day on Monday, before heading to Atlanta. Ex-Bison RHP Sam Gaviglio faces RHP Sonny Gray in the opener against New York tonight (7:07 p.m.).
