Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

The Pensacola Ice Pilots finished the week with a .500 mark of 1-1-0-0, and head into this week's action with a record of 19-38-1-2 for 41 points, 8th in the South Division.

ICE CHIPS: Forward Dan Riedel made an immediate impact on the Ice Pilots line-up on Saturday by scoring his first professional goal. It was a 5-on-3 power play when Riedel scored on a one-timer in the second frame to give the Ice Pilots a 4-2 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

Rookie defenseman Jesse Baraniuk continues his solid play over the last month with six points in his last eight games. He added a goal and an assist in his last three contests.

Goaltender Michael Mole won his 13th game of the season Saturday night when the Ice Pilots dumped the Florida Everblades 5-2.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: This week's Dodge Ice Pilots/Player of the Week is forward David Wrigley. He had one goal and two assist in the Ice Pilots' 5-2 victory over the Florida Everblades on Saturday. Wrigley's goal was shorthanded and it snapped a 1-1 tie in the first period. It was part of a three-goal outburst in the opening stanza for the Ice Pilots.

RANKIN'S CALL UP: Forward Rob Rankin was rewarded for his hard work this season by receiving his first call-up to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. Rankin played in both games over the weekend as the Sound Tigers beat the Philadelphia Phantoms and the Hershey Bears to keep their playoff hopes alive. Rankin had no points and one shot on goal in two games.
