
Ice Dogs Open Playoffs In Bakersfield Tomorrow

LONG BEACH, Calif. - With the 2005-2006 ECHL regular season now complete, so is the playoff picture as the Ice Dogs finished 3rd in the Pacific Division and are ready to take on the 2nd place Bakersfield Condors. Game 1 will be tomorrow night at 7 PM in Bakersfield with Game 2 to follow Friday at 7 PM.
Game 3 will be the first playoff game at the Long Beach Arena this year, on Saturday, April 15, at 7 PM. Game 4 will be played on Sunday at 5 PM and Game 5, if necessary, will be played at home on Wednesday, April 19, at 7 PM. The final two games, if necessary, would be played in Bakersfield on April 21 and 22.
The Ice Dogs finished the regular season with a record of 36-27-9 for 81 points, five points behind the Condors. It will be the 8th time since the Ice Dogs moved to Long Beach 10 years ago that they have made the playoffs and the second consecutive season. Last year, the Ice Dogs knocked off the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads in the first round, before falling to the Alaska Aces in the Divisional Finals.
