Johnstown Chiefs News Release


The Johnstown Chiefs (30-26-15) went 0-1-1 last week. Friday, the Chiefs lost in Toledo, 3-1, and Saturday, the Chiefs lost at home in a shootout to Toledo, 3-2. The Chiefs begin the North division quarterfinals at home, Monday vs. Trenton. Game Two is Tuesday, in Trenton, and, if necessary, Game Three will be held at Planet Ice, Thursday in Johnstown at 7:30 pm.

Game #71 (4/7/06) TOLEDO 3 - Johnstown 1 Disher 37/Cey 2 saves
The Chiefs fell behind 2-0 in the first period and were never able to rally to even, losing 3-1. The Chiefs amassed 13 minor penalties, including seven in the first period, en route to their 26th defeat of the season. Dmitri Tarabrin scored his 21st of the year, a career high.

Game #72 (4/8/06) Toledo 3 - JOHNSTOWN 2 Cey 36 saves
In their final regular season game, the Chiefs lost leads of 1-0 and 2-1, eventually going to the shoot-out, won by Toledo in eight rounds, 3-2. Justin Kelly and Brad Thompson potted goals for the Chiefs.
