Chiefs Add For Playoffs

Johnstown, PA (April 10, 2006) - Goaltender Jonathan Boutin, defenseman Jay Rosehill, and forward Joe Tallari have been reassigned to the Johnstown Chiefs, in time for tonight's Quarterfinal Game One vs. Trenton, Chiefs General Manager Toby O'Brien announced. Boutin and Rosehill were assigned from Springfield of the AHL. Tallari was assigned from Bridgeport Sound.

Boutin, 21, was 8-9-2, with a 2.93 goals against average, .920 save percentage and two shutouts in 19 appearances with the Chiefs this season. The St. Joachim-de-Sheffo, Quebec native was named the American Conference starting goaltender in the 2005-06 ECHL All-Star game.

In 22 games with Springfield, Boutin was 8-12-2, with a 3.18 goals against average, .898 save percentage and one shutout. The rookie from Quebec of the QMJHL lead Springfield goalies in goals against average.

Jay Rosehill began the season with the Johnstown Chiefs, but played in just five games with Johnstown. Rosehill, 20, did not record a point with the Chiefs, but accrued 13 PIM's. The University of Minnesota-Duluth rookie had three points, including one goal, and 68 PIM's in 45 games with Springfield.

Joe Tallari, 25, reassigned from Bridgeport of the AHL, had seven points, including two goals in 16 games with the Tigers. The third year pro from Niagara University just completed a three-point weekend for Bridgeport, including two goals.

In 55 games with the Chiefs this season, Tallari scored 37 points, including 18 goals. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario was a 2003 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, when he led the CHA in scoring with 55 points (26G, 29A) in 34 games. Tallari also scored 32 goals for the Chiefs during the 2004-05 season.

To make room on the roster, defenseman Jon Hedberg, forward John Toffey and goaltender Josh Disher have been made inactive for the quarterfinal series with Trenton.

The Johnstown Chiefs 2005-06 post-season presented by The First National Bank of Pennsylvania resumes with Game Two, tomorrow in Trenton. Game Three, if necessary, will be at Planet Ice in Johnstown, Thursday at 7:30 pm.
