Royals Notes:
v The Royals went 0-2-0 in final two games of the regular season. Reading's finished the regular season with a record of 42-23-7=91, which placed the Royals in third place in the North Division of the American Conference with a .632 win percentage-which was the tenth best win percentage in the league.
v With the two losses this past week, the Royals finished the regular season on a three game losing streak, which tied the longest losing streak of the season for the Royals.
v The Royals' loss to the Dayton Bombers on Friday extended Reading's home losing streak to two games, which tied a season high. Over the course of the season, the Royals lost back-to-back home games four times.
v In both losses of the suffered by the Royals this week, the opposition scored the game's first goal. Over the course of the season, the opponents scored the game's first goal.
- Over the course of the season, the opponents scored the game's first goal in 37 of the 72 regular season games. The Royals had a record of 17-18-2 in those games.
- When scoring first this year, Reading went 25-5-5.
v In Friday's 5-4 loss to the Dayton Bombers, the Royals' first goal (which tied the game at one) was scored by Chris Bala while the Royals were on the power play, marking Bala's first power play goal of the season.
- Bala also assisted on the lone goal scored by Reading in the 2-1 loss in Trenton on Saturday night, extending his personal point streak to six games (2g - 6a = 8pts).
- Over the course of the last fourteen games of the regular season, Bala picked up 16 points (4g - 12a = 16pts).
- Bala compiled 43 points (17g - 26a = 43pts) in 46 games with the Royals this year; and, over the course of the season he racked up a career high 48 points in a total of 59 ECHL and AHL games (18g - 30a).
- Bala's five short-handed goals over the course of the season finished tied for second in the ECHL in that category.
v The Royals' second goal on Friday night (which made the score 5-2, Dayton) was scored by Jamie Chamberlain, marking his first goal as a professional in his second pro game.
- Chamberlain also scored the Royals' second goal (to make it 5-3, Dayton), marking his first multi-goal performance as a pro.
v Larry Courville scored the Royals' fourth goal in Friday's 5-4 loss to Dayton, extending his personal point streak to five games (6g - 4a = 10pts).
- Although his point streak was snapped in Saturday's 2-1 loss in Trenton, Courville racked up 17 points (9g - 8a = 17pts) in the last twelve games of the season.
v Reagan Rome assisted on Reading's third goal on Friday night to give him thirty points for the first time in his pro career.
- Over the course of the season, Rome established career highs in goals (6), assists (24), and points (30).
v Eric Werner picked up an assist in both games played last week, extending his personal point streak through the final four games of the season, during which he racked up five points (1g - 4a).
- Werner completed his first pro season with forty-two points, making him the highest scoring defenseman with the Royals this year.
v Shay Stephenson picked up an assist in the 5-4 loss to Dayton on Friday, giving him 41 points in 62 games with Royals this season and establishing career highs in goals (19), assists (22) and points in his first year of North American pro.
- Stephenson also had the highest plus/minus (+15) amongst players with the Royals at season's end.
v Royals' defenseman Corey LeClair assisted on two of the Royals' goals on Friday night, marking his first multi-point performance as a pro.
v Kevin Saurette scored the lone goal for the Royals in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Trenton Titans, marking Saurette's first goal as a pro.
v Cody Rudkowksky was the Royals' goaltender in both games played last week, and he was the Royals' goaltender of record in the last four games played in the regular season-and in 16 of the last 20 games played by the Royals.
- Rudkowsky finished the regular season with a record of 24-11-3 for the Royals with a 2.51 goals against average (fifth best in the league) and a .916 save percentage.
- Rudkowsky's 24 wins ties his ECHL career high, as he won 24 regular season games for the Royals in 2003-04 (24-18-6). (He also went 8-6-0 in the playoffs for the Royals that season.)
- Rudkowsky also compiled a record of 5-2-1 with a 2.06 goals against average and a .938 save percentage in 9 appearances with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League this year.
- Rudkowsky's 29 pro wins this year established a personal career high.
v In the 2-1 loss to Trenton this week, the Royals were only assessed a single minor penalty, marking a season low for penalty minutes (2:00) and power play chances against (1) in a single game.
- Over the course of the season, Reading gave the opposition 444 power play chances (sixth most in the league), while going on the power play 372 times during the year, a differential of minus 72-which was tied for the third worst power play to penalty kill differential in the league. (Phoenix had a -91; Charlotte had a -73; and Trenton and Reading were -72.)
v Over the course of the season, the Royals scored 79 power play goals in 372 chances, a 21.2% scoring ratio, which is ranked third amongst the 25 teams in the ECHL.
- In the final ten games of the regular season, the Royals scored 12 power play goals in 47 chances with the man advantage, a 25.5% scoring ratio.
v Over the course of the season, the Royals allowed 65 power play goals against in 444 chances for the opponent with the man advantage, an 85.4% kill ratio, which tied for second best in the league.
- In the final ten games of the regular season, the Royals allowed 10 power play goals against in 46 chances with the man advantage, a 78.3% kill ratio.
v Doug Christiansen ended up as the Royals leading scorer this season with 35 goals and 64 points (in 63 games with Reading), establishing career highs in those two categories. Christiansen did not play in the Royals' games this week, as he was on loan to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
v Mike Kompon led the Royals in assists this season with 41, as he racked up 56 points in 42 games. Kompon did not play in Reading's games this week.
v Tyler Hanchuck finished the regular season with four goals, fourteen assists and eighteen points in 68 games with the Royals this year, all of which were career highs for him. (Hanchuck's 68 games played led the team in that category.) Hanchuck did not play in the Royals' games this week, as he was placed on the seven day injured reserve.
v Malcolm MacMillan's twelve goals (in 62 games with the Royals this year) established a career high for him in that category.
