GARY, Ind. - Mardi Gras returns to U. S. Steel Yard as the Gary SouthShore RailCats kick off a seven-game homestand packed with special guests, great giveaways and action-packed American Association Baseball! Tickets are on sale now for all seven games with no seat in the house more than $10 and free parking all week long.

Steel Yard Box Office is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and at 10 a.m. on the weekends when the 'Cats are at home. Thursday, June 16, 7:10 p.m. RailCats vs. St. Paul Saints
* Mardi Gras Night
A renewed rivalry with the St. Paul Saints gives the RailCats the chance to throw a Mardi Gras style party to celebrate, as U. S. Steel Yard will be transformed into a family friendly version of Bourbon Street! There will be plenty of party surprises all night long and at least one parade so this is a day you sure won't want to miss!
Friday, June 17, 7:10 p.m. RailCats vs. St. Paul Saints

The RailCats are adding a new twist to a classic giveaway in 2011. Not only will the first 500 fans receive a wood bat from our friends at Hoosier Bat and courtesy U. S. Steel Gary Works and 89.1 FM The Lakeshore, but the bats will also be randomly autographed by a RailCats player or coach. However, a few lucky fans will receive a bat autographed by the entire 2011 RailCats squad so make sure you arrive early as these are sure to go fast! RailCats will also wear special throwback uniforms courtesy U. S. Steel Gary Works which will be auctioned off during the game with all proceeds going to charity. Place your bids for these jerseys in McShane's SouthShore Depot and claim your prize off of your favorite player's back on the field after the game. This night also features another RailCats classic in Faith and Family Night. The 'Cats invite baseball fans of all faiths to gather at U. S. Who says Halloween is only one day a year' The RailCats (and Rusty in particular) will be handing out candy to fans (with the good stuff going to fans with the most creative costumes) but you also receive a special ticket discount when you come in character. This night will feature a number of other spooky surprises including a special appearance by the ghost that haunts The Steel Yard, so you won't want to miss it! Also don't forget the RailCats are celebrating their Tenth Anniversary Season with a picture giveaway to the first 1,000 fans entering the ballpark, courtesy of Great Lakes Orthopedics, commemorating ten years of fun and exciting baseball in Northwest Indiana! The peace and love movement will always be remembered as a pivotal point in our nation's history and the RailCats will be celebrating with some of your favorite music of the era in addition to a number of other facets of this cultural phenomenon. * Youth and Senior Day
The RailCats celebrate the "Go Green" initiative with this night but included will be a salute to the color green, one of the official colors of your favorite Northwest Indiana Baseball Team, with music from Green Day and other special "green" items. The RailCats also invite local youth camps and senior groups out to this annual event, with a special 11 a.m. start time and special group ticket discounts. The RailCats play in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball starting in 2011 after playing the last nine seasons in the independent Northern League, where they won championships in 2005 and 2007 and have advanced to the post-season the last six seasons.
