Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
WINNIPEG - Although the Winnipeg Goldeyes lost the first two games of this past weekend, the bats came alive in a 9-2 Sunday win over the Kansas City T-Bones. The Goldeyes finish the six-game home stand with three games against the Sioux Falls Pheasants, beginning tonight.
North Division Rivals: The Goldeyes may have fallen to third in the North Division standings, but they are right on the doorstep of getting back in the hunt for first place. Wins over the fourth-place Fighting Pheasants would push Winnipeg into contention for first place in the division. The Goldeyes enter the series a game and a half back of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks for second place in the division and four games back of the St. Paul Saints for first place.
Jamaica Night: Tonight one lucky fan will win a trip for two with flight and accommodations to Jamaica courtesy of Air Canada Vacations.
Max Poulin Night: Tuesday night is sure to be memorable as long-time Goldeyes shortstop Max Poulin will have his No. 6 retired during a pre-game ceremony. There is a lot in store for fans attending this game. The first 2,000 through the gates receive a Max Poulin bobblehead and every fan receives a Poulin player card and eye black stickers. Max will also be on the concourse to sign autographs throughout the evening. If that wasn't enough, there will also be the largest fireworks show of the season following the game.
School Day: Wednesday has a special start time at 11 a.m. Be sure to come to the ballpark for afternoon baseball and the opportunity to see the team before they hit the road again. As of this morning, only 600 tickets are left for this game.
