Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen played the first of two weekend home games tonight when they welcomed the Central Division leaders the Medicine Hat Tigers to Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary was dominant, coming out with a 6-2 victory.
Medicine Hat would strike first courtesy of Shane Smith. Calgary would follow up with a goal from Wyatt Pisarczyk to tie the game just over the halfway mark of the period. Ben Kindel would add to the Calgary offense scoring shorthanded on a breakaway.
The second period saw Carson Wetsch's 19th of the season to make it 3-1 Calgary. Carter Yakemchuk would net his 24th on the power play to increase Calgary's lead to three. With that goal Yakemchuk has tied Jake Bean for the Hitmen record of most goals scored by a defenceman in a single season.
