February 10, 2024 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
PLAYOFF BOUND: The Saskatoon Blades became the first WHL team this season to clinch a postseason berth after a 3-2 victory Saturday at InnovationPlex against the Swift Current Broncos.
Forwards Egor Sidorov, Brandon Lisowsky, and Lukas Hansen all scored to lift the Blades to their eighth consecutive win. Hansen potted the game-winning goal just over halfway through the third period to improve Canada's top ranked team to 39-9-2-3. The Winnipeg, MB product has 11 goals and 21 points in 44 games this season.
Sophomore netminder Austin Elliott was a major reason the Blue and Gold only surrendered two goals, stopping 24-of-26 shots, many high-danger chances. The Strathmore, AB product picked up his 50th career WHL win in the performance and boosted his record this season to 24-4-2-1.
Playoff passes go on sale Monday, February 12th at 10:00am. Purchase tickets for every single Blades home playoff game in the 2024 postseason for just $129. Playoff passes can be purchased online through your Account Manager or at The FEZ located at 2803 Faithfull Ave.
NEXT GAME: The Blades embark out of province next weekend to conclude their four-game road trip. The Blades visit the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday, February 16th at the ENMAX Centre and follow it up a tilt at Co-op Place against the Medicine Hat Tigers the next night.
Saskatoon concludes the trip in Brandon for a 2:00pm CT game against the Wheat Kings on Monday, February 19th.
