Calgary Hitmen News Release

Calgary, AB - Calgary Hitmen General Manager Kelly Kisio announced today the selection of Edgars Ulescenko 56th overall in the 2008 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Ulescenko is a 5'11" 187 lbs. right winger from Riga, Latvia. The 18 year-old is described by International Scouting Service as a draft sleeper who possesses the innate ability to find seams in the defensive zone and capitalize on opportunities. He developed his skills under the personal control of former NHLer Vladimir Ruzicka.

"Edgars is a smart, speedy player who we believe can add an offensive punch to our lineup," says Kisio. "He's currently in Toronto training under Peter Twist and we look forward to seeing him on the ice at Hitmen training camp in late August."
