Ice select two Forwards in CHL Import Draft

June 26, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kootenay Ice News Release

Cranbrook, BC - Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club announced today the Club has selected 18-year-old Forward Dominik Pacovsky (1st round, 45th overall) and 19-year-old Forward Ales Frieb (1st round, 54th overall) in today's 17th annual CHL Import Draft. The second selection was acquired from the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a 7th round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.

"It is very difficult to draft any Import player as for the most part teams have not had the opportunity to watch these players over the course of the season. Both players come highly recommended by Allan Walsh, a player agent who we have used several times in the past for the CHL Import Draft. We hope both Dominik and Ales can be regular contributors to our Club during the 2008-2009 season," continued Chynoweth.
