Giants Take Part In CHL Import Draft

The Vancouver Giants are preparing to make two selections today in the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

The Giants have the 51st and 58th overall selections in today's draft. It will be the first time in three seasons that the Giants have taken part in the CHL Import Draft.

Michal Repik (Czech Republic) and Mario Bliznak (Slovakia) were both selected by the Giants in the 2005 draft. Repik went on to win both a WHL and Memorial Cup Championship with the Giants and is now property of the Florida Panthers. Bliznak, who also caputured two championship titles with the Giants, is in the Vancouver Canucks organization.

"This is a very important day in the off-season for our organization," says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. "With Michal and Mario making the next step in their hockey careers, we are looking forward to adding two players who can make an impact with our club over the next few seasons."
