
WHL Announces 2008 Exhibition Schedule

Calgary, AB -- The 2008 WHL Exhibition season opens on Friday, August 29th with the Vancouver Giants hosting the Kamloops Blazers in Ladner, British Columbia. This season's exhibition schedule also features four tournaments with the Everett Silvertips and Edmonton Oil Kings tournaments set for the last weekend in August and the Saskatoon Blades and Tri-City Americans hosting their tournaments the weekend of September 4 - 7.
The Everett Tournament begins on Friday, August 29th, and features the Chilliwack Bruins and all five U.S. Division Clubs, including the 2008 WHL and Memorial Cup Champion Spokane Chiefs and 2008 WHL Regular Season Champion Tri-City Americans.
The Edmonton Oil Kings 2nd Annual pre-season tournament begins on Saturday, August 30th, and features five Clubs including Medicine Hat, Prince George, Regina and Swift Current.
The Tri-City Americans to urnament features the host Americans and their four U.S. Division rivals Everett, Portland, Seattle and Spokane and starts on Thursday, September 4th with the Silvertips taking on the Chiefs.
The Saskatoon Blades tournament kicks off on Thursday, September 5th with the Blades playing host to the 2008 WHL Eastern Conference Champion Lethbridge Hurricanes. Also participating in the tournament are the Medicine Hat Tigers, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders and Swift Current Broncos.
