Hitmen Hopes Snuffed in Overtime

Calgary, AB - Colorado Avalanche prospect Nick Henry scored 14 seconds into overtime to lift the Regina Pats past the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The resilient Pats never led until the end erasing deficits of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2. It was former Hitmen defenceman Aaron Hyman who forced overtime for the visitors netting a power play goal with 8:54 remaining in regulation. Cole Dubinsky and Jake Leschyshyn rounded out the scoring for the visitors.

Riley Stotts, Jake Kryski and Kaden Elder provided the Hitmen goals while Mark Kastelic added a pair of assists.

Calgary outshot Regina 32-22 with both teams going 2-6 on the power play.

The Hitmen will now head out on the road to play five games in eight days while visiting four teams from the East Division. Their first stop is the Art Hauser Centre on Tues. Oct. 16 when they take on the Prince Albert Raiders. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The following night, on Wed. Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m., Calgary visits the Saskatoon Blades at the SaskTel Centre.

The 2018-19 Hitmen Hockey Pass is still available and includes 34 game tickets to be used anytime, in any combination. Pass holders also receive a $50 Scotiabank Saddledome gift card and a complimentary ticket to a select Flames, Roughnecks or Stampeders game. Passes start at less than $7 per ticket for kids and under $15 for adults.
