Today... The top two teams in the Eastern Conference clash as the Blades host the Raiders in game 2 of the 8-game season series between these two fierce rivals. Saskatoon comes in on a 4 game winning streak while Prince Albert has won their last two. It's also the first game of the season at SaskTel Centre between the Blades and Raiders. Prince Albert hasn't won a regular season game in Saskatoon since 2014, a span of 15 games.
The last game... Max Gerlach scored all 3 goals for Saskatoon- his 3rd career hat-trick-- including the game tying goal with 16 seconds left in the 3rd period, and the OT winner on Friday night in a 3-2 Saskatoon victory over the Red Deer Rebels. Kirby Dach and Dawson Davidson each had 2 assists in the game while Nolan Maier made 23 saves for his 6th win of the season. The Raiders are coming off a 2-1 win last night on home ice over the Red Deer Rebels.
Head to head... Last season the Blades went 6-1-1-0 against the Raiders, and 3-1 in the pre-season. So far this season the Raiders lead the series 1-0... the only game was a 4-1 Saskatoon loss back on September 30th in PA. Parker Kelly and Brett Leason each have 2 points in the season series... Tristen Robins has the only Blades goal against PA this season.
Who's hot... Dawson Davidson has 11 points in his last 6 games, 14 points in total on the year leading all defensemen in league scoring. He was the WHL & CHL Player of the Week on Monday. Kirby Dach has 9 points in his last 6 games. He leads the Blades with 16pts in 9GP this season. Dach was also the first WHL & CHL Player of the Week of the season.
