Tigers Edge ICE 4-3 in Shootout

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers picked up a 4-3 shootout victory over the Kootenay ICE on Saturday night at Canalta Centre.

With the ICE down 1-0 after two periods, things heated up in the final frame with five goals being scored. The ICE took their first lead of the game mid-way through the third period off the stick Jakin Smallwood. The Tigers would even the game with just over four minutes left in regulation time. The game would go into overtime, then a shootout.

Smallwood's goal is the first of his WHL career. He also added an assist in the game. ICE forward Davis Murray registered a two-point night (1G, 1A), while goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 25-of-28 shots.
