Hitmen Fall to Hurricanes in OT

Calgary, AB - Despite outshooting the Lethbridge Hurricanes 39-21, the Calgary Hitmen fell to the opposing team 3-2 in overtime.

Lethbridge opened up the scoring in the first period with two goals from Justin Hall and Ty Nash less than three minutes apart. Zac Funk got Calgary on the board in second period with a helper from Cael Zimmerman earning his 50th career assist.

Calgary entered the third down by a goal but the game was tied up with a shot from the point by Briggs Orr, scoring his first Western Hockey League goal. The game headed to OT but it wasn't long before Hall netted his second of the game just 40 seconds into extra time to give Lethbridge the win.

Calgary is back on the ice tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 29 in Medicine Hat against the Tigers before returning home to the 'Dome to host Swift Current on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 4:00 p.m.
