Regina Pats News Release
Moose Jaw, Sask. - The Regina Pats lost 4-1 to the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night on the road.
Tye Spencer was the lone Pat to score, netting his first since arriving in a trade on January 17.
Atley Calvert led the way for Moose Jaw, scoring a natural hat-trick. Carl Tetachuk stood tall for the Warriors, finishing with 33 saves on 34 shots.
The Pats entered the third period down 3-1 and fired 15 shots on goal, but couldn't claw their way back into it, despite having a 6-on-3 and then 6-on-4 advantage.
THE GOALS
1st Period
MJ 1-0 at 6:11 - Ryder Korczak (16), assisted by Jagger Firkus and Brayden Yager (PPG) // Firkus was stopped by the right pad of Sim, but Korczak put home the rebound on the power play to open the scoring.
2nd Period
REG 1-1 at 3:53 - Tye Spencer (4), assisted by Cole Dubinsky// Dubinsky hopped on a turnover in the neutral zone and entered on a a 2-on-1 rush with Spencer and fired a shot, which resulted in a rebound that Spencer backhanded home for his first as a Pat and 4th of the season.
MJ 2-1 at 10:39 - Atley Calvert (8), assisted by Maximus Wanner and Cordel Larson // Calvert tipped a point shot from Maximus Wanner.
MJ 3-1 at 13:52 - Atley Calvert (9), assisted by Eric Alarie and Denton Mateychuk// Calvert snapped one home right from the slot after a pass from Alarie.
3rd Period
MJ 4-1 at 4:50 - Atley Calvert (10), assisted by Riley Niven // Calvert carried the puck into the offensive zone on a 3-on-1 rush and decided to hold on, firing a shot past Sim to give the Warriors a three-goal lead.
