You again?
It's a third meeting with Seattle in as many weekends, but Portland isn't complaining. With wins in each of the first two matchups this month (and three straight wins over Seattle since New Year's Eve), the third tilt presents just another opportunity to gain ground and/or create separation in the tight U.S. Division standings.
The Winterhawks managed to leapfrog the Thunderbirds on points last week, but Seattle still holds two games in hand. The remaining four games (after tonight) between these two teams are sure to be decisive, and with Everett no more than 10 points ahead of either club, the title race is shaping up to be a good one as the season winds down. Buckle up!
100 for O-B
Last night's win over Prince George marked a few things - Portland's 12th straight game with a point and sixth straight win and Taylor Gauthier's sixth win in a row since joining the Hawks, to name a few. But it was also a milestone outing for Winterhawks forward Jack O'Brien, who picked up two points in his 100th career WHL game!
Raining bears
Should the Thunderbirds score tonight, expect some delays - Seattle is hosting its postponed Teddy Bear Toss tonight at accesso ShoWare Center. And while we're on the subject, why not re-live our own Teddy Bear Toss from December?
WIN A TOYOTA:
Back for another season, fans 18+ who reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington can ENTER TO WIN a brand new Toyota car, truck, or SUV.
