ICE Earn Single Point in Moose Jaw

For the first time this season the Winnipeg ICE needed beyond 65 minutes to settle the score as Brayden Yager and Ryder Korczak scored in the shootout to give the Moose Jaw Warriors a 5-4 decision Friday night at Mosaic Place.

Tanner Brown, Jakin Smallwood, Mikey Milne and Conor Geekie scored during regulation time for the 29-6-2-1 ICE.

Yager with two goals, Robert Baco and Korczak replied for the Warriors (22-16-3-1), who extended their winning streak to a season high five games.

The game was scoreless after the opening period and tied at two through 40 minutes.

Moose Jaw's Carl Tetachuk made 41 saves over 65 minutes. He also denied Connor McClennon and Matthew Savoie in the shootout.

Gage Alexander stopped 24 of 28 through overtime and also turned away Jagger Firkus in the shootout.

Through four games this season, Winnipeg is 3-0-0-1 versus Moose Jaw.

The ICE have a four point lead over Edmonton for first place in the WHL's Eastern Conference with two games in hand on the Oil Kings.
