(HICKORY, N.C.) Home runs by Rougned Odor and Jordan Akins sent the Hickory Crawdads to a 5-3 win over the Lexington Legends Wednesday night.

The Crawdads broke on top with a run in the first inning. Luis Sardinas led off with a single, moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on a ground out by Odor. After Trever Adams drew a walk, the Crawdads executed a double steal, with Sardinas beating the throw home from second to give Hickory a 1-0 lead.

The Legends evened the score in the second. Justin Gominsky led off with a single and stole second base. After Teoscar Hernandez drew a walk, Ruben Sosa singled, loading the bases. Nolan Fontana's sacrifice fly scored Gominsky with the tying run.

Odor led off the bottom of the third with a homer, and the Crawdads added another run in the fourth. Alejandro Selen walked, and moved to third on when Jorge Alfaro's ground got past second baseman Chan Jong Moon for an error. Selen scored on a single by Kevin Torres to give Hickory a 3-1 margin.

Moon's leadoff homer in the fifth cut the lead to one, but a two-run homer by Akins in the bottom of the sixth increased the Hickory lead to 5-2.

The Legends' Chris Epps hit a solo homer with two outs in the top of the eighth to close out the scoring.

Jerad Eickhoff (13-7) worked the first five innings for Hickory and got the win. Legends' starter Luis Cruz (9-8), who also worked five innings, took the loss.

The series is even at one win apiece, and concludes Thursday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
