SALISBURY, MD. - A six-run 5th inning broke open a tied game in Lakewood's 10-5 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds Wednesday night.

With the game tied 3-3, the first seven runners of the ballgame reached safely for the BlueClaws en route to their second-highest run-scoring inning of the season.

Stephen Malcolm highlighted the offense in which all nine BlueClaws scored one run (Maikel Franco was the lone starter to score twice) with his 2-for-3 performance which included a double, stolen base, run scored and three RBI.

Ethan Stewart matched his career-high nine-strikeout game from the Gulf Coast Phillies last year with nine strikeouts in six innings against Delmarva. He allowed three runs- all earned- but his offense provided enough support to earn him his fifth win of the season. Stewart is now 5-9.

The BlueClaws look to complete their first road sweep of the season in their final road series of the season as they take on the Shorebirds in Game 3 at Arthur W. Purdue Stadium Thursday. Lakewood sends Lino Martinez (6-5, 5.52) to the mound against Juan Guzman (1-3, 7.04).

First pitch for Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
