August 29, 2012 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Hagerstown Suns News Release
Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns, Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that outfielder Caleb Ramsey was named the South Atlantic League (SAL) Player of the Week for August 20-26, 2012. Ramsey becomes the second Suns position to be selected as a Player of the Week this season.
Ramsey erupted for a monster week at the plate, batting .556 (10-for-18) with two doubles, three triples and ten RBIs to earn the honor. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound, outfielder enjoyed streaks of three consecutive multi-hit and multi-RBI games, including a pair of 3-for-3 performances. Ramsey, a mid-season All-Star selection, currently ranks second in the SAL in triples (10) and is the second toughest batter in the league to strikeout (1/10.80 plate appearances).
Ramsey joins former teammates OF Steven Souza, Jr. and RHP Alex Meyer as SAL weekly award recipients, with Meyer having been previously named the SAL Pitcher of the Week for June 11-17 and Souza, Jr. the Player of the Week for July 2-8.
Suns individual game tickets, season tickets, mini-plans, and group packages are on sale now. For more information and to reserve your seat at Municipal Stadium, call 301-791-6266, or www.hagerstownsuns.com. The Hagerstown Suns are owned by Hagerstown Baseball, LLC.
