Hershey Calls On Royals D-Man and Forward

READING, PA – The Reading Royals have announced that defenseman Dean Arsene has been recalled to the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears. In addition, forward Judd Medak has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Hershey Bears.

Arsene, 24, has appeared in 31 games with Reading this season and tallied two assists and 82 penalty minutes. Currently, the third year defenseman, ranks second on the club in PIMs. Arsene signed an American Hockey League contract with the Bears this summer. He has played one game with Hershey this year and went scoreless and posted five penalty minutes.

Medak, 25, is the Royals leading scorer with 16 goals and 30 points. He has posted +11 rating in 29 games which is second on the club this season. Medak appeared in three games with the Royals American Hockey League affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, this season and posted no points. Medak 's ten power play points are third on the club and he ranks first in first in goals scored this season (4).

The Royals have activated forward Peter Hay off the injured reserve list. Goaltender Terry Denike has been placed on the 7-day injured list. Goaltender Peter Hamerlik has been activated from the injured list and is expected to play this weekend.

The Reading Royals take the ice at home on Friday, January 30 against the Augusta Lynx at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans 12-and-under through the gate receive a free sportsbag courtesy of CTCE.
