(Florence, KY) - Cincinnati native Casey Henn (8-5) went seven and two thirds innings of shutout ball, striking out a career-high 12 along the way as the Florence Freedom (37-46) knocked off the Windy City ThunderBolts (31-53) by a final score of 3-0 Thursday night.

With the win the Freedom take three of four from Windy City and win their fourth consecutive series.

The Freedom got on the board right away against Windy City starter Josh Spence (1-9) as Zak Blair doubled with one out in the first. Sam Eberle doubled as well but Blair had to stop at third as the ball was nearly caught. Then Jacob Tanis drove in Blair with a RBI ground-out as Florence grabbed a 1-0 lead.

Buddy Sosnoskie smacked his fifth home run of the season to extend the Freedom lead to 2-0 in the fourth. Then Tanis launched his fifth home run of the year as well, widening the lead to 3-0 in the fifth.

But the night belonged to Henn as he scattered four hits over the seven and two thirds innings while walking only two hitters.

Henn threw 124 pitches and Pete Levitt entered to relieve him in the eighth with two outs and a man at first. After a single brought the tying run to the plate, Levitt struck out Ryan Soares to end the inning.

Ed Kohout picked up his fifth save of the season with a scoreless ninth, striking out two batters as the Freedom pitching staff struck out a season-high 15 hitters in the game.

The Freedom head to Marion, IL on Friday to take on the Southern Illinois Miners in a three-game series. Peter Gehle (4-5, 4.18 ERA) takes the hill for Florence. All the action can be heard on http://mixlr.com/florencefreedom//. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. eastern time.
