Last time out...

The Freedom split a double header with Windy City on Wednesday, winning game one 10-9, dropping game two 8-0. Windy City actually grabbed a 5-0 lead in game one as they scored one in the first and four in the second. But the Freedom rallied with four runs in the third as they got a RBI single from Zak Blair, a sacrifice fly from Sam Eberle and a RBI double off the bat of Rolando Gomez. The Freedom grabbed the a 7-5 lead in the fourth only to see Windy City take it back with four runs in the fifth. But in the bottom of the fifth, Chance Ross launched a three-run home run to give the Freedom a 10-9 lead that they would not relinquish. Game two was a much different story for the Freedom as Travis Tingle no-hit them for the second time this season. Windy City scored a couple of runs in the first and never looked back. The Freedom drew three walks and had a player reach on an error but that was it.

For Starters...

Casey Henn is coming off back-to-back victories over Joliet on August 15 and Normal on August 9. In both starts he went seven innings, giving up only one run against Joliet and shutting out Normal. Henn has only allowed five hits over his past 14 innings of work. He's already faced Windy City twice this season, going seven shutout innings for a win on June 11 and giving up five runs over four innings in a loss on June 17. Henn had a sensational rookie season for the Freedom, posting a 5-0 record with a 3.67 ERA for Florence fresh out of Wright State University. In nine appearances, eight starts, Henn struck out 38 batters in 49 innings while only allowing only 39 hits.

Looking for the series win...

With a win tonight the Freedom can secure their fourth straight series victory, their longest series winning streak of 2014.

Comeback kids...

The Freedom pulled off their biggest comeback win of 2014 in yesterday's 10-9 victory over the ThunderBolts. Florence came from five runs down to win the game.

Where are the hits?!

In game two of yesterday's double header the Freedom were no-hit by Travis Tingle of the ThunderBolts for the second time this season. It's the first time in Frontier League history a team has been no-hit twice by the same pitcher. Tingle has now thrown 12 no-hit innings this year against Florence.

A Hot August...

This season the Freedom have already won more games in the month of August (10) than they won in all of July (9).

Hot hitters...

Zak Blair is hitting .455 with six runs scored and four RBI over the past 10 games. Sam Eberle is hitting .429 with five runs scored and four RBI over the past 10 contests.

Season series wins...

The Freedom's win in game one of yesterday's double header clinched their second series victory of the season. They also have beaten the Washington Wild Things this year five games to four. Right now they are ahead of Windy City five games to three with one remaining. Florence can move to a .500 record against the West Division with a win tonight.

Leading after six...

The Freedom have an impressive record of 28-5 when leading after six innings. However they are only 5-34 when trailing after six.

Tonight's special jersey numbers...

The Freedom are wearing custom jerseys for Kentucky Roots Night. As a result Zak Blair is #12 and Pete Levitt is #7 this evening.
