(TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN) - The Evansville Otters (48-33) lost 4-2 in 10 innings to the Traverse City Beach Bums on Thursday night at Wuerfel Park.

A two-run home run from first baseman Yazy Arbelo earned the win and a sweep for the Beach Bums. It marks the first time the Otters have been swept this season.

The top four teams all lost in the Frontier League East Division on Thursday, keeping Evansville a half game back of the Southern Illinois Miners in a three-way tie for second place with the Lake Erie Crushers and the Washington Wild Things.

Evansville fell behind early in the game when Traverse City scored two runs in the first. Outfielder Jeff DeBlieux reached with a walk and Scott Woodward got aboard with an infield single and throwing error. Yazy Arbello plated DeBlieux with an RBi single and Jovan Rosa added a sacrifice fly for the 2-0 lead.

Down 2-0, Evansville rallied back over the next two innings. A second inning sacrifice fly by outfielder J.R. Higley made it a one run game.

Infielder Shayne Houck then tied up the score in the third with an RBI double to left field. The game then remained a 2-2 tie for the next few innings.

Evansville right-hander Will Oliver retired nine batters in a row from the second to fifth innings. Traverse City starter Ian MacDougall also limited the Otters by not allowing a final run over his 7.0 innings.

Both teams left runners at first and third in the eighth before the Beach Bums got a leadoff walk in the 10th and two-run home run from Arbelo for the win.

Houck went 2-for-4 in the game with an RBI. First baseman Nik Balog extended his team-high hitting streak to 11 with a fourth inning single.

Evansville will look to snap their season-high three game losing streak on Friday night in the series opener at the Rockford Aviators. The Otters will have RHP Preston Olson (7-3, 2.82 ERA) on the mound against Aviators RHP Tony Butler (0-1, 11.57 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 pm CDT. The game can be heard live on WUEV 91.5 FM beginning at 6:45 pm CDT.
