Havern and D'Aversa Added to Nailers

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the "AA" affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers have announced today that forward Ned Havern has been returned from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL). Additionally, the Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned defenseman Jonathan D'Aversa from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Wheeling.

Havern, 25, was recalled by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on November 16. At that time, he ranked third on the Nailers with 11 points and second with six goals through nine games. The native of Arlington, MA, appeared in six games with the Baby Penguins, going scoreless and minus-3.

D'Aversa, 21, has appeared in six games with the Penguins this season, recording two points (1g,1a) and a minus-1 rating. The native of Richmond Hill, ON, was signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins as an undrafted free agent this past summer.

The rookie defenseman spent the past four seasons with the Sudbury Wolves before making his professional debut for the Penguins on October 20. D'Aversa recorded 150 points (26g, 124a) in 259 career games with Sudbury and also added 31 points (9g, 22a) in 50 career OHL playoff games.

Both Havern and D'Aversa are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Nailers visit the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:05p.m. Radio coverage is available on the Nailers Radio Network as well as online at www.wheelingnailers.com.

The Nailers return to WesBanco Arena on Sunday to welcome the Reading Royals at 6:05p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring their own skates and gloves and to skate with the players following the game. Kids tickets are just $5 all December long.
