Captain Peter Ferraro scored twice, including the game-winning goal with 2:15 remaining in the third period. Ferraro's game-winning goal was the 300th of his career. Las Vegas goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 19 of 20 Idaho shots, improving to 4-0-0 on the season. The Wranglers pushed their season-long winning streak to 11 games. Idaho goalie Steve Silverthorn stopped 30 of 32 Las Vegas shots in the defeat. Las Vegas will conclude a six-game home stand on Saturday at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
Idaho wasted little time getting started. Steelheads' forward Mike Sullivan lifted a backhand shot past Kevin Lalande just 1:37 into the game, giving Idaho a 1-0 lead.
After a scoreless second period, Las Vegas tied the game just 6:55 into the final period. Defenseman Mike Madill fired a pass cross-ice to Peter Ferarro for the one-timer. Ferraro's ninth goal of the season went in off the pads of Steve Silverthorn, knotting the game 1-1. With 2:15 remaining in the contest, Ferraro scored again, redirecting a Ryan Donally shot for the 2-1 win and his 300th career goal.
Las Vegas will conclude a six-game home stand on Saturday at 7:05 pm with Idaho. Las Vegas will then embark on a five-game road trip with stops in Stockton and Utah.
