Falcons Fall to Condors

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons fell to the Bakersfield Condors 8-1 on Friday in front of 6,381 fans at Save Mart Center.

After a scoreless first period, Bakersfield took control of the game, scoring three times in a 4:31 span early in the second period. Tim Konsorada opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:16, and Kevin Truelson doubled the advantage with a shorthanded goal at 7:31.

Just 1:16 after Trueslon's tally, Todd Griffith scored on a shot from the left-wing circle to give the Condors a 3-0 lead heading into the final period.

Fresno got on the board 4:57 into the third period, as Igor Gongalsky banged the rebound of a Jarrett Konkle shot past Yutaka Fukufuji for his fifth goal of the season.

It was all Bakersfield after that, as the Condors went on to score five goals in the final period to pick up the win.

The Falcons and Condors play the second game of their three-game weekend series on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Rabobank Arena. Catch all of the action on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 6:45.

Fresno returns home on Sunday, hosting Bakersfield at 5:00 p.m. on Soft Rock 98.9 and Comcast Cable Kids' Day. All kids 14 and younger can purchase tickets for just $7. The game also features the annual Mascot Broomball Game during the first intermission, presented by Little Caesar's. Fans are also encouraged to bring canned food items to the game to benefit the Community Food Bank.
