June 5, 2007 - The Midwest League has announced that Cedar Rapids Kernels catcher Hank Conger has been named the Midwest League Player of the Week for period May 28 to June 3.
During the week, Conger batted .381 (8-21) with 2 HR, 9 RBI and a grand slam. He also led the league in slugging percentage with .857 and has had 18 RBI in his last 14 games.
On the season, Conger is batting .280 (49-175) with 13 doubles, eight home runs and 32 RBI.
Conger is the first Cedar Rapids player to win the MWL weekly awards.
